VI BASE Camp is a women's community based on mid-Vancouver Island — spanning Parksville, Qualicum, Nanaimo, and Shawnigan Lake.

We bring women together for adventures, events, crafts, hikes, and camps. It's a place to connect, recharge, and be yourself.

Twice a year (and talked about all year long!), we host a 2-night camp getaway. Expect great food, creative workshops like yoga, cookie decorating, painting, and charcuterie board making, plus plenty of downtime to relax, read, play games, or just enjoy good company.

That's completely okay — most of our members started out the same way! VI BASE Camp is built for exactly that. Our events are small, relaxed, and low-pressure, which makes it easy to strike up a conversation and find your people. Whether you're new to the Island or just looking to expand your circle, you'll find a warm and welcoming group of women ready to include you.

VI BASE Camp is open to all women, including Two-Spirit and non-binary individuals who feel at home in a women-centered space. No experience is required for any of our activities — just a willingness to show up and have fun.

Members earn badges for participating in activities — yes, like scouts, but for grown women who deserve to celebrate trying new things. It's fun, motivating, and a little bit silly in the best way.

VI BASE Camp is based on mid-Vancouver Island, with events happening across the region — including Parksville, Qualicum, Nanaimo, and Shawnigan Lake. There's no single fixed location; activities and meetups take place at various spots throughout the area depending on the event.

A wide variety! Past and planned activities include hiking, pottery, axe throwing, kickboxing, surfing, golf, wine tours, escape rooms, high tea, crafting nights, and more. There's something for everyone.

Members get access to the Members Portal on our website, where you can connect and chat with fellow members through Wix Groups. There's also a public calendar available in ICS format to keep up with upcoming events and adventures.

​Our members are mostly women in the 40–65 age range, though what matters most is the spirit to get out, try new things, and connect with others. If that sounds like you, you'll fit right in!
